Scope

Continuing garnishments, bank garnishments, and the debtor’s copy

Writs of continuing garnishment (wages)

The fee

The fee, handled

Utah sets the garnishee fee at $10 for a single garnishment and $25 for a continuing one (Utah Code §78A-2-216). Since May 2026 you can either send that fee with the writ or let the garnishee deduct it from what they send you. Add Check to Recipient at checkout and we deliver our check with the writ and record it on the return, so the full garnished amount reaches you instead of arriving short. Amount plus 5%.

FAQs

Garnishment questions

Do you serve out-of-state employers with Utah offices?

Yes. We serve any company with a registered agent in our Utah service area.

How long until money starts coming?

The garnishee has a set time to answer and begin withholding after service. Ask your attorney or the court; our job is to make the service date as early as possible.

Can you also serve the debtor?

Yes. Add the debtor as a second recipient if at the same address, or as a second job.
