Your server attempts service.

Your service level sets the attempt schedule and limit. Each attempt has a date, time, and GPS record. If the address is wrong, the office reviews the next step.

03

You receive a Return of Service.

You'll receive the Return of Service by email. Confirm the filing arrangements for your case with the office.

Proof

See when and where service was attempted.

Each attempt has a recorded location, date, and time. Your Return of Service documents the result. That record helps you respond if service is questioned.

FAQs

Divorce service questions

Can I serve my spouse myself?

No. Utah requires a person over 18 who is not a party to the case. A friend or relative can, but if it’s done wrong the court can reject it and you start over.

How long does my spouse have to respond?

Generally 21 days if served in Utah and 30 days if served out of state. The clock starts the day we serve.

What if my spouse is out of state?

We serve within Utah. For anywhere else, email us the details and we’ll point you to a member of the National Association of Professional Process Servers we trust in that state.

What if they won’t open the door?

We document it. Then you choose: more attempts under your service level, a move up to Guaranteed, or a motion for alternative service backed by our record.

Will you serve at their work?

Yes, if you’d prefer. Tell us where and when in the upload notes.
